Being an inspiring professional, you will provide strategic development and operational delivery of aspects of Healthcare Improvement Scotland’s quality assurance programme. This will be instrumental in supporting improvement, providing assurance, including inspection, and delivering person-centred, user focused quality assurance activities.

As Head of Quality of Care you will play a key role in the quality assurance and inspection of the quality of care in the NHS and increasingly with the Care Inspectorate in the provision of integrated health & social care services. You will take a risk-based, proportionate and intelligence-led approach, drawing upon a range of methodologies to develop and deliver an effective national quality assurance programme.

Providing professional leadership and guidance through good practice will require an individual who can establish, develop and sustain credibility within Health and Social Care providers, Government and other stakeholders in Scotland. Educated to Masters level (or equivalent experience) you will have extensive knowledge and experience in a senior clinical management role within the Health and Social Care sector and be fully conversant with best practice and related policy areas. You will be able to demonstrate many achievements in portfolio management, innovation and delivering against demanding targets.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to strategically shape and improve the delivery of health and social care in Scotland, making a real difference to every service user. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who have a nursing professional background in order to achieve this.
