Healthcare Improvement Scotland supports healthcare providers to deliver high quality, evidence-based, safe, effective and person-centred care; and provides public assurance about the quality and safety of that care.

Visible, active clinical engagement is central to the success of our work and will support the delivery of clinically effective care to patients. Healthcare Improvement Scotland’s clinical engagement strategy, Improving Healthcare Together, aims to ensure that we have clinical influence and clinical assurance across all of our activities.

Healthcare Improvement Scotland is introducing new comprehensive assessments of the quality of healthcare. This is part of a programme of work to implement a new framework-based approach to comprehensive assessment and external quality assurance of the care provided in NHSScotland.

Our aim is to deliver an operational review methodology that is proportionate, sustainable and focused on quality improvement.

They will have advanced training and experience in quality improvement methodologies and practical experience in their use. The post holder will have extensive experience in the analysis, interpretation and use of data.

It is anticipated that this role will be secured via a secondment opportunity with employing authority. Any individual wishing to pursue this opportunity as a secondment must first seek the support of their line manager.
