The Evidence Directorate serves a dual role in Healthcare Improvement Scotland. We develop and disseminate evidence-based advice for NHSScotland, such as guidelines, health technology assessments and clinical standards, and we provide internal evidence development, research and knowledge support for the other functions of the organisation.

We require a Personal Assistant to provide a professional and comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to the Director of Evidence of Healthcare Improvement Scotland and the Deputy Director. The ability to work on your own initiative, manage and prioritise a busy work schedule and demonstrate attention to detail is essential. You will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and have significant experience of working with and supporting senior management in a proactive and flexible way.

Experience in a similar role is essential and you will hold a recognised higher education qualification in Secretarial/ Business Administration (or equivalent experience). An ability to take succinct & accurate minutes is essential.  You will be proficient in MS office and you will be expected to use in-house sytems to process information (for example raise purchase orders) and respond professionally to internal and external enquiries as required. You will provide a range of support tasks including organising and supporting meetings/events, diary/email management, arranging travel and accommodation.

You should be educated to HNC level or have demonstrable equivalent experience in administration. Possessing sound and effective communication skills with exceptional attention to detail, you will already have gained sufficient experience in a similar role and adopt a flexible approach to resolve issues proactively. You will be able to work on your own initiative and prioritise conflicting deadlines whilst possessing excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
